HeartMath(R): A Brief Description

The Institute of HeartMath(R) was founded in 1991 by Doc Childre to explore and develop practices to assist individuals move from the destructive cycles of stress, anxiety, and anger, which grip so much of the modern world.

Due to the rigorous scientific approach utilized to achieve its purpose, HeartMath is now recognized as a global leader in emotional physiology, stress management, and heart-brain research. 

This research has led to the development of efficient techniques, practices, and biofeedback tools that individuals can employ to shift their body/mind from the ineffective state of incoherence brought on by chronic stress or anxiety to a more effective and healthy way to live.

HeartMath's emWave Personal Stress Reliever(R) (PRS) Wins Peoples Choice Award

 

The hand-held emWave Personal Stress Reliever was chosen as the best electronic device for 2009 by an on-line competition during January.

Conducted by Netshelter Techology Media at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, the competition selected 10 entries for the on-line poll from more than 100 devices considered for the contest.

The emWave PSR received nearly 70% more votes than the runner-up, the Eye-Fi Video Card in the on-line poll.

HeartMath(R): Military Warrior Initiative

The Institute of HeartMath(R) is now engaged in training U.S.
military personnel in HeartMath techniques prior to combat assignments to strengthen the emotional capacity of soldiers and marines and to mitigate the likelihood of post-traumatic stress disorder.

The institute is also working in V.A. hospitals and clinics across American to help heal physical and emotional trauma of combat, including PTSD, which the Pentagon reports is plaguing veterans--31% of marines, 38% of soldiers, and 49% of National Guard.

Discover Magazine Blog Records emWave PC(R) In Action at Consumer Electronics Show

During the 2009 Consumer Electronic Show, at which the emWave PSR won the Peoples Choice Award, HeartMath's other biofeedback technology was recorded live for publication on the Discover magazine's blog.
